Accra Academy put Holy Child to sleep

Accra Academy were uncontainable as they faced Holy Child School in a crucial Second Round contest of Senior Sharks 7. The ‘Bleoo’ boys masterfully retired the ladies to ‘Angel’s Hill’, Cape Coast, and took their place in the Ranked Schools category. Accra Academy (Accra Aca) were incisive and purposeful from the blast of the whistle to the end.

All the rounds were comfortably won by Accra Academy, and ended up with an astronomic jump in score on their First Round contest.

Holy Child School were also just shy of the hundred (100) mark at the end of the contest.

They manifestly gave this thrilling contest all that their energies could sustain.

It was a creditable effort from the renowned girls school, but the opposition was simply a bulwark to their forward march.

Accra Academy will be relishing this win that has brought them face-to-face with the Super Ranked Schools waiting at the ‘Table of Men’.

Right Corner Round

After Accra Academy began their set of questions, they ended the round with forty (40) points. Nice try!

Holy Child School took their turn and ended with thirty (30) points from their Social Literacy skills. Not bad either.

R Cubed Round

As the Round 2 was activated, it was Holy Child School who got off to a good start.

They were active in the Reading and Writing segment but remained largely incommunicado in the Arithmetic segment.

Accra Aca on the other hand did the best in the Arithmetic segment to make amends for the Reading and Writing.

In the end, Accra Aca led again with thirty (30) points while Holy Child were closely tagging along with twenty-five (25) points.

STEM Round

Like a flashlight in pitch darkness, Accra Aca shone brightly with two quick answers to the first two riddles of the round.

It was a thing of beauty : Accra Aca here!, Accra Aca there!, Accra Aca everywhere! in this round.

Even with a miss or two, they were in cruise control, and thus ended the round with forty-five (45) points.

Holy Child provided two answers in this round, one that earned them full marks and the other negative marks.

That got them five (5) points in total at the end of the round.

One-on-one Round

Accra Academy had one leg in the Round of 16 - only thing left now was to finish off in grand style.

Experts in English were Charissa and Samuel for Holy Child and Accra Aca respectively.

The first question was expertly delivered by Samuel.

Second question? No show.

When Math experts were called, Ampofo and  Maame Yaa responded for Holy Child and Accra Aca respectively.

The only buzzer heard in this segment was from Ampofo, but he couldn't meet expectations.

In Science, Mustapha faced Bernice as experts for Accra Academy and Holy Child respectively.

Quizmaster was midway through the Reading of the clues when Mustapha interjected and delivered the answer to the riddle.

His second interruption to the second question was equally sublime. Supa!

Grace and Kugblenu took their turns as General Knowledge experts for Holy Child School and Accra Aca respectively.

They both took ten (10) points to end the Round, and the contest.

Scores at the end of the round showed ten (10) points for Holy Child with forty (40) points going to Accra Aca.

Final Scores announced were, Holy Child School- ninety (90) points and Accra Aca- one hundred and fifty-five (155) points.
