Senior Sharks 7 Quiz- the final 32 raring to go
Thirty-two (32) top schools are right on cue to give the Season 7 of the Senior Sharks Quiz their best shot. The schools have all fulfilled the basic requirements for consideration as Sharks Season 7 competing schools. Beginning Sunday April 21, 2024, these schools will launch a hot pursuit of the Senior Sharks trophy. Each participating school has their eyes firmly affixed on the ultimate prize. Bar none, they have hinted of their readiness to put in the maximum amount of work required.
Senior Sharks 7 competing schools will feature a fine blend of established Public and elite International schools across the country.
Interestingly, a lot more ‘Ivy League’ schools in the public category continue to come aboard the Senior Sharks Quiz train.
Their participation in the Senior Sharks 7 is truly indicative of the ever growing stature of the Senior Sharks Quiz.
It also speaks volumes about the unparalleled quality of the highly sought-after Quiz competition in the country.
All indices point to the fact that Senior Sharks 7 is going to be the most talked about educational program of the year.
Key Background
Qualification to the Senior Sharks Season 7 quiz competition took the format of online examinations for interested schools.
It started on 23rd February, 2024, with willing and able schools participating under Northern and Southern sectors.
In all, fifty (50) schools took part in the Northern and Southern sectors online examinations.
At the end of the tests, sixteen (16) schools had thoroughly satisfied organizers of the Senior Sharks Quiz 7 as per the test results.
Schools that qualified from the preliminary qualifiers will be joined by sixteen (16) schools who already booked their tickets from Season 6.
All thirty-two (32) finalists are spread across three categories named as Qualified Schools, Ranked Schools and Super Ranked Schools.
The First Round contests will be among the Qualified Schools only.
It comes on your screens this Sunday April 21, 2024, at 1pm prompt on TV3.
All Sharks Quiz online channels will also stream all contests across the world.
The Ranked and Super Ranked Schools will come into action immediately after the Qualified Schools contests are closed.
Qualified Schools
From the online qualification exercises, sixteen (16) schools made it to the national finals of Senior Sharks 7.
These schools entered into a category labeled as “Qualified Schools”.
Out of the Northern Sector, they are: Kumasi Girls SHS, Prempeh College, St. Hubert Seminary and SHS, Kumasi Academy, Tamale Girls SHS, St. Louis SHS, and Ghana SHS.
Okuapeman SHS, Aggrey Memorial SHS, Accra Academy, Achimota School, St. Catherine SHS, Hope College, Wallace Academy, Academy of Christ The King, and University Practice SHS make up the Southern sector legion.
At the end of the Southern sector exams, Okuapeman SHS topped all while Kumasi Girls SHS were tops in the Northern zone.
The biggest newsflash from the list of schools making their entry from the Northern Zone into the Sharks Quiz 7 is the appearance of Prempeh College in the national finals.
Prempeh College, Sofoline, Kumasi, is synonymous with excellence in Quiz competitions.
Their first time participating in Senior Sharks will surely have hairs raised.
Accra Academy is also another school which comes with lots of clout.
Making a comeback into the national finals after a three- year absence will turn the fever of the Senior Sharks 7 a notch higher.
Ranked Schools
In Sharks Quiz parlance, Ranked Schools are those that are able to make it out of the First Round qualifiers, but fall short of progressing beyond the Round of 16.
Ranked Schools will begin competing from the Second Round of the competition.
Ranked Schools in Senior Sharks 6 are Wesley Girls High School, Cape Coast, Tamale Islamic Science SHS, DPS International, Aburi Girls SHS, KNUST SHS, Mfantsipim School, Holy Child School and Sonrise Christian School.
The advantage of being a Ranked School lies in the high probability of meeting a less-experienced school.
Super Ranked Schools
Under this category, schools that achieved a minimum of a quarterfinals placement in Season 6 of Senior Sharks are grouped.
They are, by established protocols of the quiz, exempted from competing in the First and Second Rounds of Senior Sharks 7.
Super Ranked Schools in Senior Sharks 7 are eight (8) and comprises: Presec (Legon), Adisadel College, St. Peter's SHS, St. Augustine's College, Opoku Ware SHS, Keta SHS, Labone SHS and St. Thomas Aquinas SHS.
As a Super Ranked School, enough respite is afforded the contestants to fine tune their preparations for the contests.
Expectations and Projections
The next eight (8) weeks after Sunday 21 April, 2024, will definitely be abuzz with talk of Senior Sharks 7.
Impassioned analysis of contests will be had in traditional media and digital spaces as the contests roll.
Prior to that, fans of participating schools have already begun heated banter over the prospects of their schools.
Understandably, fans of the various schools repose utmost faith and trust in the skillset of their representatives.
This has led to all manner of permutations and projections being wrought about potential winners of Season 7 of Senior Sharks.
Which school will lift the prized “Golden Book of Knowledge” trophy, though, remains in the bosom of time.
