Junior Sharks 8 grand finale- Ancilla Primary and JHS triumph on the second attempt

Ancilla Primary and JHS have won Junior Sharks 8 after narrowly missing out in their first finals in Season 7 of the best academic competition for basic schools. This is a rare and remarkable feat, especially when Ancilla achieved this victory against no less a team than two-time champions, Manna International School. The grand finale of Junior Sharks 8 was a thrilling display of academic brilliance between two decorated schools.

Both teams had their skin in the game and demonstrated quick thinking and sharp reflexes throughout the contest.

Manna’s road to the finals began with a comfortable win over St. Peter’s R/C, Nkwatia, at the Round of 16 of Junior Sharks 8.

Their toughest test would come against familiar foes, Dehli Private School International (DPSI), at the quarterfinals stage, in a contest dubbed ‘el clasico’.

After passing the DPSI test, they would go all out on difficult opponent Dahin Sheli to make it into finals number three.

Having shaken off the pain of their loss in the grand finale of Season 7, Ancilla came into Season 8 renewed and repurposed.

They kicked off their campaign with a win over St. Peter’s Catholic Basic, Madina, at the Round of 16.

They then kept the winning streak against Queens Court International School and Vine Christian High School in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.

With sixty (60) points each at the end of the First Round, the finals of Junior Sharks 8 had given fans a foretaste of what was to come.

But back from Round 1, Manna shot off like a projectile, amassing an incredible seventy-five (70) points thanks to the yeomanry effort of Ephraim, the chieftain in Numeracy for Manna.

Ancilla’s response in the STEM Round, though incomparable to Manna’s humongous score in the R Cubed Round was a history-making score.

With one last push, Ariel- the Math whizz from Ancilla hit the buzzer in the one-on-one round for ten (10) points which would end up sealing a historic win.
