Senior Sharks 9 semi-final- Wesley Girl's makes history despite Augusco defeat 

The contest against their town mates from Cape Coast promised to be full of fireworks, as each school was eager to secure a spot in their second final.

Aside from the local rivalry presented by this contest, St. Augustine's (Augusco) were also defending champions, which added a deeper layer of difficulty to the equation.

Having both dispatched tough opposition in the shapes of Ketasco and Okuass before this contest, the esprit de corps of the contestants was sky-rocketing.

Wesley Girls’ High School (Wey Gey Hey) displayed their usual mastery over Literacy with razor-sharp accuracy in the Right Corner Round.

Unfortunately, they failed to shine in the other rounds, leaving Augusco to win the three crucial rounds with effortless ease.

Augusco maintained their composure as they dominated the Season 4 champions to set up a mouth-watering encounter with Presec, Legon in the grand finale.

Round-By-Round Account 

Following St. Augustine’s College's fifty (50) points in the Right Corner Round, the contest had somewhat tilted in the direction of the defending champions.

Wesley Girls lost ground heavily as they ended the round with twenty (20) points.

The Right Corner Round turned out to be a completely different set of tactics as the Wesleyans competed efficiently to end the round with forty (40) points against thirty (30) by St. Augustine’s College.

The defending champions were visibly stunned, but like the true champions they are, they fixed their flaws and buzzed brilliantly throughout the round to end with forty-five (45) points.

For the third time in the contest, Wesley Girls had to play catch-up, ending the round with fifteen (15) points.

The hour had come for Wesley Girls High School to truly set themselves on the path to legendary status.

Their experts traversed and travailed, but the experts from the defending champions were simply merciless, earning forty (40) points to cap a very productive afternoon.

Wesley Girls did not leave empty-handed, as they also earned ten (10) points, but the mathematical effect on the standings was insignificant.

With one hundred and sixty-five (165), St. Augustine's College had a full view of the “Golden Book of Knowledge”.

Wesley Girls had an impressive eighty-five (85) points. Congratulations to both schools.
