Junior Sharks 9 quarterfinals - Ancilla holds its own against Ghana Christian High International.

Ancilla Primary and JHS, Haatso, now have a clear view of the Junior Sharks 9 grand finale, after overpowering Ghana Christian High Int. to book a semifinal berth. Ghana Christian High, three-time champions of the Junior Sharks have been a very disciplined team in Junior Sharks 9.

They have compounded individual brilliance into a potent force, enabling them to achieve two effortless victories over Queen of Peace R/C ‘A’ Basic, and Royal Intellectuals.

With Ancilla holding the fort as the undisputed defending champions, fans anticipated an epic and titanic quarterfinal clash, as both schools were equally upbeat about their chances of victory.

Ancilla, who was coming into this contest after a flawless victory against Angels’ Ridge School, stepped on the accelerator right from the start.

They won all the rounds, and even though Ghana Christian High came close to outgunning them in R3, Ancilla still maintained a slim lead.

It was an intense and thrilling contest with both teams showing skill, strategy, and resilience, but Ancilla showed more drive for success and got their wish.

Right Corner Round

Ancilla’s output in the Social Literacy round is admirable, and when they started this round, they produced their magic once again.

They took an early lead with sixty (60) points, while Ghana Christian International High School scored forty (40) points at the end of their eight questions asked.

R Cubed Round

Halfway through the contest, the zeal and conviction with which both teams approached this round spoke volumes about their intentions.

In the two Reading & Writing, and Arithmetic rounds, the teams showed high aptitude for a contest at this level.

Subsequently, both schools ended the round with good scores, with Ancilla having forty-five (45) while Ghana Christian High scored forty (40).

STEM Round

Ancilla wasted no time getting into the round with their first correct buzz. Ghana Christian had a burst of adrenaline, as they picked the next three riddles..

As the tension rose, so did the probability of mistakes that came with that drive.

It was an intense and thrilling round with both teams showing skill, strategy, and resilience.

But Ancilla Primary/JHS’s determination to rewrite history was unstoppable as they bounced back with thirty (30) points, while Ghana Christian International High School scored ten (10) points. 

One-On-One Round

Zormelo and Ritza as English experts for Ancilla and Ghana Christian High respectively.  But no points came from them.

Marvin and Aku Dede for Ancilla and Ghana Christian respectively in Math were next. And Marvin? Simply marvellous with two quick answers.

Afua and Cleland for Ancilla and Ghana Christian respectively were the Science specialists. Another ten (10) points for Ancilla but the second question was lost to both experts.

Triumph for Ancilla and Awuradjoa for Ghana Christian High respectively in General Knowledge drew the curtain down. And Ghana Christian High’s only good news came from Awuradjoa for ten (10) points.

At the end of the round, Ancilla had thirty (30) and Ghana Christian High had ten (10).

With the end of the contest scores were announced, Ghana Christian High Int. walked away with an impressive one hundred and five (105) points while Ancilla won comfortably with one hundred and thirty-five (135) points.

Fun Fact!

This is the first meeting of two former champions in Junior Sharks 9, which was won by Ancilla.
