Senior Sharks 9 semifinals- Presec obliterate old foe St. Peter's

That contest was also won by Presec, coincidentally being the last time the ‘Blue Magicians’, as Presec goes in academic circles, laid hands on the coveted trophy.

But the heat and the desire to get even showed vividly on St. Peter's as they emerged from behind the blinds to face their perennial opponents.

With victories over well-drilled teams like Adisadel College and Accra Academy at the Round of 16 and quarterfinals respectively, St. Peter's optimism was naturally at its apogee.

This set up the contest perfectly for an all-out action, against Presec's ambition to make it to another final and make amends for their Season 8 loss.

It was an electrifying contest indeed with both teams showcasing speed and accuracy. St. Peter's worked sweat off their brow in hopes of another victory against Presec à la Season 5.

The most decorated team in the history of the competition will not be cowerd, however, triumphing over St.Peter's from gun to tape to make their unprecedented seventh appearance at the most innovative high school quiz.

Round-By-Round Account 

The emphatic win by Presec in this contest had its genesis from the Right Corner Round, where the three-time winners had only one miss to their name. Interestingly, St. Peter's also had only one correct attempt to their name at the end of the First Round. The score distribution gave seventy (70) points to Presec while St. Peter’s had ten (10) points.

As former champions, St. Peter's knew the winning template, and they drew inspiration within to rise in the Literacy segment. But they spiralled head down again in the Arithmetic segment to end the R Cubed Round with forty (40) points.

Presec were more clinical in the Arithmetic segment, helping them to a total of sixty-five (65) points at the end of the round.

The road to the grand finale for the Presecans was now clearer than ever as they got into their elements in the STEM Round.

At the end of the riddles, they had forty-five (45) points while St. Peter’s had nothing.

It was now easier to sell ice to an Eskimo than for St. Peter's to win this contest. But with this contest holding more than just academic value, their experts pushed to the limit to earn twenty (20) points to the thirty (30) of Presec.

When the curtains drew on this contest, St. Peter's had seventy (70) points against the gargantuan two hundred and ten (210) for Presec, Legon.
