Senior Sharks 9 grand finale- Presec and Augusco trade heavy artillery

Presec, Legon, undisputed three-time champions of Senior Sharks have been looking to avenge their agonising defeat to the Cape Coasters since.

With St. Augustine’s College (Augusco) also hoping for back-to-back titles, the contest had huge implications for pride and power in Senior Sharks folklore.

For the defending champions, the road to the finals had been a precarious one as they earned victory over West Africa SHS, torpedoed Keta SHS and deflated high-flying Wesley Girls’ High School at the Round 16, Quarterfinals and Semifinals respectively.

Presec's journey had been no less perilous, having exercised dominance over Labone SHS, earned a gladiatorial victory over Prempeh College, and chalked an impressive win against St. Peter's SHS, Nkwatia.

This brought two high and mighty schools in a face-off to see who wears the crown as the sharpest arrowheads in Senior High Schools in Ghana.

Fans had no qualms whatsoever about the level of competitiveness displayed, as both schools fought in a battle of attrition that ended with only five (5) points separating victor from vanquished.

Round-By-Round Action

Both schools were sharp and unerring from the blast of the bellmaster's bell to start the contest till the final whistle.

In a display befitting a grand finale of such magnitude, both teams scored a whopping sixty (60) points each at the end of the Right Corner Round, proof that this was truly a league of extraordinary men.

Right after the Right Corner Round, the two teams went to work, toiling day and night as they eyed a commanding finish.

But the defending champions were slicker and more dexterous in the Numeracy and Literacy challenge to end the round with a colossal seventy (70) points.

Presec also gave a good account of themselves by earning an astounding fifty-five (55) points as the STEM Round loomed over the horizon.

Riddles being thought to be the preserve of Presec, Legon, they had high hopes of dethroning Augusco from the leader's position.

The defending champions were, however, well-oiled for the task ahead, and they held Presec by the horns to share forty (40) points apiece.

As the last round rose to prominence, the question on fans' minds was whether Presec could bounce back from the twenty (25) points deficit.

Indeed, Presec answered the call and won the One-On-One Round with their experts in surgical mode. But yet again, St. Augustine's College stayed within the epicentre and managed twenty (20) points to end the round.

St. Augustine’s College had achieved the nigh-impossible, equalling Presec's back-to-back (Seasons 6 & 7) record with a score of one hundred and seventy (170) to win Senior Sharks 9.

The losing finalists, for the second consecutive time, Presec and Legon, had put up a great fight to end the contest with one hundred and sixty-five (165) points.
