Newcomers Queens Court School keep Integrity Keepers in check
The second contest of Junior Sharks 8 between Integrity Keepers and Queens Court School was in full swing as the excitement from the first contest still lingered. From a casual observation of proceedings in this contest, it was not too hard to conclude that Junior Sharks had indeed come of age. For the second time in a row in Junior Sharks 8, a newcomer put up a truly outstanding display to displace one of the old guards of Junior Sharks. For the records, both schools made a good case for themselves as winners in their own right, despite the loss by Integrity Keepers. Even as losers, the Kumasi Asuoyeboah-based school left the contest with a score that was capable of winning a contest in Junior Sharks any other day.

Queens Court, however, appeared hungrier for success and kept the pressure on in the first and second rounds.
Integrity Keepers, sensing a possible exit from the competition, had to do something and do it fast.
They thus rallied around and made amends for their slow start by winning the last two rounds.
But by that time, the horse had already bolted from the stable.
Round 1 (Right Corner Round)
Queens Court had done their homework in General Knowledge, and their score at the end of the round spoke for itself.
In the end, sixty (60) points was a very good way to announce their presence in this contest.
Integrity Keepers on the other didn’t get the start they wanted and could manage only thirty (30) points.
Round 2 (R Cubed Round)
Clarissa joined the action to relieve Ama after she had played her part for Queens Court in this highly tense contest.
Thereafter, Queens Court picked the first ten points of the round.
Queens Court started well and ended well in the English segment.
The Mathematics segment also went pretty well for Queens Court, bouncing back from their first miss in the round, to take two correct questions on the trot.
Integrity also gave it its all but misfired a few times on its Arithmetic questions.
Both schools then decided to play it safe with the last question to give Queens Court School forty (40) points and Integrity Keepers thirty-five (35) points at the end of the round.
Round 3 (STEM Round)
Integrity Keepers refilled the gas in the tank and momentarily caused problems for Queens Court with their accurate buzzes.
Prince was the man at the centre of it all, as he took the contest on his shoulders and dragged Integrity Keepers along in this round.
At the end of the round, Queens Court would count themselves lucky to leave the round with ten (10) points while Integrity boosted their chances greatly by ending the round with forty-five (45) points.
Round 4 (One-on-one)
Agyeiwaa and Prempeh represented Integrity Keepers and Queens Court, respectively, as English experts.
All the two English questions asked were taken by Prempeh.
Clarrisa and Henry represented their schools in Math, with each bagging ten (10) points for their respective schools.
In Science, Prince and Jones stood up for Integrity and Queens Court as the experts.
Their hands appeared faster than their minds as both missed the first question, due to hasty attempts.
But Prince kept his cool and got the second question beautifully.
Isabella and Joel both missed the first question as they entered the stage to introduce themselves as General Knowledge experts.
And with the heart of the fans of both schools in their mouth, they once again stayed glued to their spot to keep the ten (10) points difference between them intact.
At the end of the round, Queens Court led with a difference of ten (10) with forty (40) points while Integrity finished with thirty (30) points.
End of Contest scores for this enthralling encounter gave one hundred and thirty (130) as against one hundred and forty (140) for the eventual winners, Queens Court School, Tema.
Well done to both schools.
