Senior Sharks 9- Saviour SHS sails smoothly into Round 16
Saviour SHS easily smothered the challenge posed by Adiembra SHS to book a very important round 16 slot in the Senior Sharks 9. The win also confers on Saviour SHS a Ranked status, a significant achievement for the top-grade private school from Osiem in the Eastern Region. Saviour SHS have shown they have what it takes to disturb the sand, as they eliminated a well-grounded Wallahs Academy at the First Round stage en route to this match of destiny with Adiembra SHS. However, Adiembra is equally a team with a lot of promise and quality, as seen in their previous Senior Sharks quiz appearances.
That they competed at this stage of the competition as a Ranked School from Season 8 summed up the potency they come with.
Both teams had the opportunity to add this contest to their academic credentials as two excellent private schools.
It appeared, at the end of a close contest, however, that Saviour SHS had more ambition to cement its reputation in the academic sphere.
Round-By-Round-Account
The heights expected of both teams failed to materialise primarily owing to the low scores each team started the contest with.
While Saviour SHS had only ten (10) out of a possible eighty (80), Adiembra SHS on the other hand returned nought for their efforts at the end of the First Round.
The R Cubed Round provided another opportunity for both schools to take a reassuring lead but none could break the yoke of low scores.
Nonetheless, Saviour SHS managed to squeeze another ten (10) points while Adiembra SHS unfortunately wallowed in the negative region with ten (-10) points.
Seeing the trend and possibly an awful conclusion to their dreams, Adiembra SHS finally risked it all in the STEM Round, making important interruptions to earn a good score of twenty-five (25) points.
But Saviour SHS, who had shown so far to be of good cheer also staged a strong performance to earn twenty-five (25) points.
Saviour SHS no doubt had a comfortable advantage but with eighty (80) points up for grabs in the One-On-One Round, this contest still held a mix of unpredictability.
With the experts from both schools alert and attuned to the mathematical implications ahead, fans held their breath as the experts expertly tackled their questions: English, Mathematics, Science, and General Knowledge.
But at the end of the final round of tension, Saviour SHS regained the lead with twenty (20) points while Adiembra SHS took ten (10) points.
Scores at the end of this contest of two evenly-matched teams produced seventy (70) points for Saviour SHS while Adiembra SHS went home with twenty (20) points.
