Prempeh College victorious in first-ever Senior Sharks contest

Prempeh College, one of the highly rated high schools in the country finally got to unleash their brilliance in the Senior Sharks Quiz 7. After many years in absentia, the Sharks Quiz community caught a glimpse of the quick and nimble students from the Prempeh College at last. Prempeh College were given Hope College, a top private school in the First Round series of Senior Sharks 7 to evaluate their strength in the scheme of things. Being first timers in Senior Sharks 7, they excelled at that assignment quite admirably.

Hope College, Gomoa Fetteh, looked most promising in the Second Round, but found other rounds troublesome.

The results notwithstanding, this is a good learning curve for Hope College as more seasons lie ahead.

Prempeh now gets a unique opportunity to add their name to the top shots in the Senior Sharks Quiz as they face their next opponents, Sonrise Christian High from the Volta Region, another top rated private high school in the country.

 

Right Corner Round

Both teams had a hard time removing the shackles of debutants off their feet when their set of eight social literacy questions were given.

Hope College could only manage ten (10) points whereas Prempeh College also earned twenty (20) points.

 

R Cubed Round

All the three segments of Reading, Writing and Arithmetic of this round was a good one for both schools, even though costly misses also existed.

Hope College ended the round with thirty-five (35) points while Prempeh College ended with forty (40) points.

 

STEM Round

Hope College's promise shown in the R Cubed Round faded as we entered the riddles stage of the contest.

Not a single correct answer to the clues was registered by Hope College, ending the round with negative (-10).

Prempeh College had a field day hitting correct answers in chains to end the round with forty (45) points.

 

One-on-one Round 

At the start of every final round of Senior Sharks, the question is asked- can the chasing school spring a last minute suprise, especially when the deficit is huge? It was seventy (70) in this contest.

Answers to this would be found in the bosom of the specialists representing the schools.

Thus, Mathea and Alex came as English specialists for Hope College and Prempeh respectively.

No points added by either side.

Perry and Jeffrey as Math specialists for Hope College and Prempeh College respectively was next.

No points just as in the specialists before.

Ricky and Isaac showed up as Science specialists for Hope College and Prempeh College respectively.

Amanfour! The chants rose as Isaac unmasked the two clues for twenty (20) points for Prempeh.

In General Knowledge, David and Frederick made up the pair of Specialists from Hope College and Prempeh respectively.

David took ten (10) points as the only positive outing for Hope College in this Round.

End of Round scores had Hope College with ten (10) points and Prempeh College with twenty (20) points.

Announcement of Final Scores was this: Hope College- thirty-five (35) points, Prempeh College- one hundred and twenty-five (125) points.

Prempeh College gave their fans something to be happy about in this contest. What remains is their ability to keep the vim and vigour going. Congratulations to them!
