Congratulations to the following schools for making it to the knockout stage of The Sharks Quiz Season 6

Sixteen (16) Schools have picked their tickets for the ultimate showdown in Season 6 of the nationally-acclaimed Senior Sharks Quiz.

The schools made it to the preliminary stage of The Sharks Quiz Season 6 after going through a highly competitive selection process.

They are comprised of four schools each drawn from four Zones across the country- South East, South West, Middle Zone, and Northern Zone.

Eligible schools accompanied by their quiz co-ordinators converged at accredited centres in each zone to undergo the rigorous and exciting exercise of qualifying to the first round of The Sharks Quiz Season 6.

Mode of examinations

Five contestants from each school so present emerged to answer written questions on Literacy, Numeracy, Science and Social Literacy.

At the end of the exams superintended over by seasoned examiners, the top four highest scoring schools in each zone obtained automatic qualification to the national finals in Accra.

The breakdown of schools that sailed through from each zone after total scores were announced are as follows:

Threat from new entrants

Senior Sharks Season 6 will be competed for on a completely different plane, given the threat posed by an increasing number of popular A-list schools who are making their maiden appearance.

It is expected that heavyweight schools like Achimota School, St. Louis SHS, Kumasi, Archbishop Porter Girl's SHS, Takoradi, Ghana National College, Cape Coast, in their first Senior Sharks participation are intellectually ennobled to give their seeded colleagues a run for their money.

The Senior Sharks Season 6, therefore promises to be a high-octane round-by-round display of brilliant minds unseen before in the history of Senior Sharks..

Cash Prizes for qualified schools

As a way of boosting financially the preparations of qualified schools for the finals of Sharks Season 6, each of the four schools in each zone received a cash of Ghc1,000.00.

Organisers hope that this first tranche of cash rewards will serve as an essentral tonic for schools to give off their maximum best in the national finals.

Sharks Season 6 will see a total of thirty-two schools angling to determine who wears the crown as the best all-round Senior High School in the country.

St. Peter’s SHS, Nkwatia, are the reigning Senior Sharks champions after they successfully smothered the flame of Presby Boys, Legon, in the grand finale of Senior Sharks 5.

Senior Sharks Season 6 is endorsed by the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service.
