Fans brace up for end-to-end action in Senior Sharks 8- facts, history and odds

Excitement has been steadily building as the best all-rounded competition for second-cycle schools marks its much-anticipated commencement on Monday, 28th April 2025.

The Senior Sharks Quiz has grown to supplant quizzes of such nature as the most treasured, making it a major highlight of the academic calendar for high school students.

With its history of unearthing prodigies, Season 8 promises an even bigger, better, and keener competition.

Noticeably, Season 8 of the Sharks quiz introduces new entrants from different regions who are coming with fresh energy and a certain amount of unpredictable spunk.

Powerhouses like Presec, Legon, Wesley Girls High School, St. Peter’s SHS, St. Augustine’s College and the famous Adisadel College are also battle-ready for band-for-band action.

What to expect?

From 28th April 2025 to 4th May 2025, Senior Sharks 8 will take over the trends and fill up spaces in both traditional and social media.

The intense and high-quality battles on display will rub off fans of participating schools as they jostle for supremacy.

Even before the mould is broken in Senior Sharks 8, fans have been adamant about the strength of their schools to bring home the ultimate.

As a result, the Senior Sharks 8 will undoubtedly set Ghana afire as fans engage in in-depth analysis, produce hardcore facts, and make expert predictions.

Beyond the fun and excitement, though, the Senior Sharks 8 will continue to serve as a feeder programme for world-class universities to identify talents to enrol in their various programmes.

Fun Facts

Laying hands on the coveted ‘Golden Book of Knowledge’ trophy of Senior Sharks is not a trifling exercise.

Indeed, out of the hundreds of schools that have given the competition their best shot, the Senior Sharks quiz has been won by only five schools since its inception.

This is a clear indication of the level of intellectual mastery one has to attain to receive the loudest cheers in the Senior Sharks quiz.

The competition’s first winner, Ghana Christian International, unfortunately, has not returned to the winners’ podium again after that historic win.

Wesley Girls High School, Cape Coast, is the only girl's school to have won the competition, doing so in Season 4.

In Season 3 of the Senior Sharks, Mawuli School, Ho, became the first and only co-ed school to reach the grand finale, losing to eventual winners Presec, Legon.

Except for Season 2 of the programme, Presec, Legon, has received a medal every other season of the Senior Sharks quiz.

For emphasis, Presec, Legon are seen as custodians of the Senior Sharks quiz, having won the competition a record three times, with two out of the three coming in back-to-back (Seasons 6 & 7) fashion.
