INTEGRITY KEEPERS TOPPLE MIGHTY ACHIMOTA BASIC
Integrity Keepers School sent shock waves rippling through the Junior Sharks fraternity after they dumped Achimota Basic out of the Junior Sharks 7. This 5-star display by Integrity Keepers continue the fairytale fervour of some first timers in the Junior Sharks 7. Prior to facing Achimota Basic, Integrity Keepers had met B.O.D Basic School and given them a sound beating.
Achimota Basic came into this contest as a ranked school, with a frighteningly brilliant academic resume.
Their performance in this contest followed in that direction, except that Integrity Keepers appeared hungrier for success.
Right Corner Round
With fifty (50) points apiece in this round, the stage had been set for a closely fought contest.
Miss Nana Ama Asamoah and Masters Samuel, Prince and Dennis represented Achimota Basic in this contest.
All the way from Asuyeboah, Kumasi, Integrity Keepers were represented by Misses Akua Agyeiwaa and Divinegyl, and Masters Schandorf and Prince.
R Cubed Round
From Round 2, the contest was going to be competed for on a fresh slate, as both schools had cancelled out each other in Round 1.
Integrity opened this round and were unstoppable in the Reading and Writing segment.
Achimota Basic on the other hand will not be too proud of their output in the Reading and Writing segment.
They, however, bagged some good points in the Arithmetic segment to end the Round with twenty (20) points.
Integrity Keepers had taken a ten (10) points lead over the Achimotans.
STEM Round
Questions in this Round were on a ‘no answer-thon’ until Integrity Keepers broke the jinx and hit the buzzer correctly for ten (10) points.
That correct answer set in motion a chain of back-to-back correct answers that effectively began Achimota's demise.
Integrity ended the round with forty-five(45) points while Achimota were pegged back by five (-5) points.
One-on-one Round
Impressive Divinegyl incidentally was the English expert for Integrity Keepers who took the podium to face Nhyira from Achimota Basic.
That these ladies are the most proficient in English for their respective schools was not supported by the evidence on the ground.
In Mathematics, Prince and Agyeiwaa announced themselves as the sharpest for Achimota Basic and Integrity Keepers respectively.
Even though the contest had mathematically slipped through the hands of Achimota at this juncture, Prince did well to get ten (10) points for his school.
Samuel and Schandorf were paired as the Science Sharks for Achimota Basic and Integrity Keepers respectively.
The twenty (20) points at stake all went in favour of Samuel.
To cap this contest, Nana Ama for Achimota and Prince for Integrity Keepers showed up for an audio visual identification exercise in General Knowledge.
Both had no clues to the two photos uploaded.
At the end of the round, it had been all Achimota Basic throughout to earn themselves thirty (30) points while Integrity scored zero (0).
Final Scores for this contest had Achimota Basic School with ninety-five (95) points, and the giant killers Integrity Keepers with a hundred and twenty-five (125) points.
