GIU Christian Academy show Eden Montessori no mercy

Eden Montessori scraped through the first Round of Junior Sharks with a ten point (10) difference victory over Starhills Int. School. In an opposition such as GIU Christian Academy, the Mampong-Akuapem school found to their dismay that no two schools are the same in Junior Sharks 7.

GIU Christian Academy whose profile spoke volumes made their Ranked position in Junior Sharks count in this one-sided affair.

GIU Christian Academy had Eden Montessori playing “catch me if you can” in all the rounds of this contest.

Except for Rounds 1 and 2 that had Eden closely behind GIU, the rest of the rounds were emphatically won by the Golf City, Tema-based school.

This all-round exceptional performance by GIU Christian Academy has definitely put all others on heightened alert.

Right Corner Round

This round was led by Nana Kwesi Agyemang Baffour, a finalist of Orators 2023 (Juniors), another franchise of The Academic Talent Development Programme (ATDP) Foundation in partnership with Speech Forces Organization.

He did try his best, but it was obvious his memory failed him at times during the one-on-one session with affable quizmistress.

Eden Montessori ended the round with thirty (30) points.

The trio of Oswald, Joshua and Fiifi worked in tandem for GIU to deliver the answers to questions asked by quizmistress.

They missed a few of the questions but they were the happier of the two, ending the round with fifty (50) points.

R Cubed Round

GIU kicked off the second round on a good note, easily picking the odd one out of a list of words.

Eden followed in the footsteps of GIU and also bagged their first correct ten points of the round.

The two schools acquitted themselves creditably with GIU slightly ahead in the Reading and Writing.

In similar fashion to the Reading and Writing, GIU started the Arithmetic set of questions very well.

Eden were not ready to be touted as playing catch up in this contest, so they matched GIU's correct answer.

The events in the Reading and Writing segment repeated itself in the Arithmetic segment.

At the end of the round, GIU were ahead as they scored forty-five (45) points, with Eden following closely with thirty-five (35) points.

STEM Round

The first question of the Round was treated as an unknown entity but the second was quickly snatched by Eden correctly.

Like many teams before, Eden Montessori took a nose dive and neutralized their correct calls.

That plus and minus answers left Eden with zero (0) points at the end of the round while GIU Christian Academy brilliantly found their way around to end the Round with twenty (20) points.

One-on-one Round

The English segment was represented by Lyane for Eden and Derek for GIU Christian Academy.

Derek's introduction in Round 2, with hindsight was strategic and well calculated.

He picked the two questions as sure as nite is to day.

Math wizkids for Eden Montessori and GIU respectively were Kayla and Joshua.

Unfortunately none displayed the stuff math geniuses are made of.

For Science, Nyamekye and Josiah stood in the names of Eden Montessori and GIU Christian Academy.

Josiah Nana Kwesi was up on the stage with Oswald for Eden Montessori and GIU Christian Academy to battle for the twenty points at stake in General Knowledge.

The buoyant Oswald narrowly missed the first assignment but he was not going to miss the second.

Not for the first time, Eden ended the round with zero (0) points while GIU Christian Academy once again bagged fifty (50) points.

GIU had won this contest by the biggest scoreline of one hundred and sixty-five (165) points as against sixty (65) to Eden Montessori.
