Vine Christian fail to go past Ancilla International School

Vine Christian International would have to wait another year to realise their dream of laying hands on the Junior Sharks trophy. The 1st runner-up from Season 4 of the Junior Sharks lost to relatively unknown school in Junior Sharks chronicles, Ancilla Preparatory School, Haatso, Accra. Ancilla have not come within the vicinity of the Junior Sharks trophy like Vine have, but that did not demoralize them at all.

Their performance in this contest was world class, and the scores and comfortable difference with which they won, ample reflection of how good they are.

Having displaced Vine Christian, Ancilla now takes the badge of Super Ranked school to face their next test in Junior Sharks 7.

Right Corner Round

A familiar pattern in the Round 16 where questions in current affairs overwhelm contestants almost reared its head again.

The positive thing though is that, both schools showed great determination to get at least half of the questions right.

And that determination paid off as both took thirty (30) points each to end the Round.

R Cubed Round

Ancilla's newcomer in the person of Aku Shika tackled the first question of the Round with confidence.

Her confidence was duly rewarded. Ancilla were more visible in this round.

Vine Christian also made good calls and

scores.

At the end of the round, Ancilla parted with forty-five (45) points with Vine Christian behind their tail with forty (40) points.

STEM Round

It was not immediately apparent why Ancilla were buzzing when unsure of the answer, but that was what they were doing.

In the process they missed as many as three questions that cost them dearly even when they had one riddle answered correctly.

Vine Christian played it safe throughout the STEM Round, only attempting two questions, one correct, the other incorrect.

At the end of the round, Vine Christian had turned the tables as they scored five (5) points while Ancilla regressed with negative five (-5) points.

One-on-one Round

Contests that are too close to call always have the final round where the best are pitted against the best as the most intriguing.

The intrigue continued when Aku Shika faced off with Prince as English experts for Ancilla and Vine Christian respectively.

Vine Christian's jubilation was cut short as soon as Aku Shika responded to the correct answer delivered by Prince.

Math dons came in the shape of Prince and Zachary for Ancilla and Vine Christian respectively.

The calm demeanour of Daniel must not be mistaken for timidity- the young man showing boldness to correctly deliver the first question, and missing the second by inches.

Alexine and Edudzie were as attentive as an eagle as the first question was being read, but it was Edudzie who showed great reflexes to snatch all twenty (20) crucial points for her school.

By the time Zoe came up as General Knowledge expert for Vine Christian, the die was cast.

Nevertheless, she met Anita as the expert for Ancilla.

At the end of the round, Vine Christian could boast of only ten (10) points as Ancilla took forty (40) points.

Final scores gave eighty-five (85) points to Vine Christian and Ancilla Primary and JHS with one hundred and ten (110) points.

Ancilla have been consistent in Junior Sharks 7, making over hundred (100) points in all their three contests.

This is a mark of a truly great team!
