Junior Sharks Season 9 – The Final 32 Ready to Rewrite History

Thirty-two (32) exceptional basic schools have earned their place at the grand stage of Junior Sharks Season 9 and they are not here to participate; they are here to conquer. Last year, Ancilla Primary School rose above the competition, outsmarting, outbuzzing, and outlasting every contender to lift the coveted Golden Book of Knowledge trophy. Their dominance was clear. Their brilliance, undeniable. But here’s the real question on everyone’s mind: Will we witness the dominance of familiar giants once again… or is a new school ready to snatch the crown and rewrite the script?

Junior Sharks Season 9 – The Final 32 Ready to Rewrite History

The countdown has begun.

From seasoned contenders to hungry new entrants, this year’s Final 32 represent a powerful mix of experience, strategy, and raw academic firepower. Across regions, classrooms have turned into strategy rooms. Coaches are sharpening minds. Contestants are revising relentlessly. Supporters are already in full voice.

And make no mistake, every single school has its eyes locked on the ultimate prize: the prestigious Golden Book of Knowledge trophy.

The Road to the Final 32

Qualification for Season 9 followed a rigorous online preliminary examination format. Schools across multiple regions took part in the national screening process, battling it out academically for a place at the finals.

At the end of the qualifiers, only the sharpest sixteen (16) schools secured their tickets through performance. They are now joined by sixteen (16) returning schools whose ranking from Season 8 automatically earned them a place in this year’s finals.

Together, they form the formidable Final 32.

These schools are categorized into:

  • Qualified Schools

  • Ranked Schools

  • Super Ranked Schools

But titles and categories mean little once the buzzer sounds because once the buzzer sounds, only performance will matter.

Qualified Schools

From the online preliminaries, sixteen (16) schools emerged across five regions. In the Greater Accra Region, Ayikuma Methodist Basic School, Royal Intellectual School, St. Paul Methodist Junior High School, Archbishop Andoh R/C Basic School and Angel’s Ridge School secured qualification.

The Eastern Region produced Nana Osae Djan Cluster 1 & 2 Basic School, Effiduase Presbyterian Basic ‘A’ School, Effiduase Methodist Basic ‘B’ School and Agormanya Methodist JHS, while the Ashanti Region was represented by Peniel Academy, St. Monica’s JHS & Girls’ Boarding and Victory Standard School.

From the Northern Region came Belhaven Montessori School and North Community School, with Ketasco M/A Basic School and Sonrise Christian International School qualifying from the Volta Region.

Notably, Victory Standard School recorded the highest score in the online preliminaries.

Ranked Schools

Ranked Schools are those that made strong impressions in Season 8 but fell short beyond the Round of 16, earning the right to begin their Season 9 campaign from the Second Round. This category features Ghana Christian International High, Life International School, St. Peter’s R/C Basic School - Tema Newtown, MA CRIG Junior High School, Services JHS, GIU International Christian Academy, Methodist Basic School – Akwadum and St. Peter’s R/C JHS Nkwatia – Kwahu.

Super Ranked Schools

Super Ranked Schools are elite contenders who reached at least the Quarterfinals in Season 8 and, by competition protocol, are exempt from both the First and Second Rounds. This distinguished category includes Ancilla Primary School, the defending champions, alongside Manna International School, Dahin Sheli School, Vine Christian High School, Delhi Private School International, Queens Court School, Matta Devi Basic School and Queen of Peace R/C ‘A’ Basic School. With extra preparation time afforded to them, these schools enter Season 9 sharp, confident and strategically poised for another deep run in the competition.

What to Expect

March promises to be electric, with fans already engaged in heated debates, bold predictions flying across platforms, and old rivalries resurfacing with renewed intensity. The big questions linger: will Ancilla Primary School retain their throne, will a Ranked School finally break through, or will a Qualified School rise unexpectedly to shock the nation? Season 9 is set to deliver sharper questions, faster buzzers and unforgettable academic drama, but one truth remains,  the Golden Book of Knowledge will belong to only one school.
