Senior Sharks 8 Round 16- Augusco invincible against St. Thomas Aquinas

St. Augustine’s College, Cape Coast, were on a completely different level in their Round 16 contest with St. Thomas Aquinas SHS. The 2nd runner-up of Senior Sharks 7, showed their high level of consistency in Senior Sharks with a dominant win over the 1st runner-up of Senior Sharks Season 2. St. Thomas Aquinas was left clutching in the shadows of St. Augustine’s College (Augusco) from Round 1 to the end of the contest. One thing that caught the attention of fans nonetheless was the enthusiasm of the Cantonments, an Accra-based school, throughout the contest.

Aquinas ought to be commended for the self-belief they exhibited before and during this encounter.

Unfortunately, their enthusiasm and energy were not enough to ruffle the Bakaano, Cape Coast, boys in any way.

Not even the introduction of the highly popular Michael Thang could alter the trajectory of the contest for St. Thomas Aquinas.

Augusco looked comfortable and appeared as though they could give more than they did in this enjoyable contest.

Round 1 (Right Corner)

Ausgusco started Round 1, answering questions from Archaeology to Zoology.

Their efforts yielded forty (40) points while St. Thomas Aquinas earned thirty (30) points.

 

Round 2 (R Cubed)

Even though St. Augustine’s were slightly more advanced in their grasp of the English Language, St. Thomas Aquinas also kept up with them.

St. Augustine then turned the heat up and scored very well in the Arithmetic segment to end the round with an extension of the points gap.

Scores at the end of the round shared sixty (60) for Augusco while Aquinas had thirty-five (35).

 

Round 3 (STEM)

Augusco took the three questions out of the five asked in this round to leave Aquinas scratching their heads.

But Aquinas also came in strongly with correct answers on the next two riddles to give themselves a mathematical chance in this contest.

At the end of the round, St. Augustine’s was in the lead once again with forty (40) points, while St. Thomas Aquinas trailed with twenty (20).

 

Round 4 (One-on-one)

In English, Daniel and Elyon for Augusco and

Aquinas could not resolve any of the two questions posed.

In Math, Daniel, as the expert for Augusco, got the first and second questions for Augusco while Michael Thang was not in the picture.

Theophilus for Augusco and Maxwell for Aquinas, respectively, in Science, showed up. It was to be Theophilus who got the second question for another ten (10) points for Augusco.

Joshua for Augusco and Dickson for Aquinas, respectively, made up the pair of General Knowledge experts.

Joshua did well in identifying Ghanaian skit maker Akabenezer for ten (10) points for Augusco after he had the first question incorrectly answered.

Augusco had forty (40) at the end of the round while Aquinas had nothing to show for their presence in this round.

Final scores thus had St. Augustine’s with a score of one hundred and eighty (180) against eighty-five (85) to St. Thomas Aquinas.

Mbo! Augustine and better luck to St. Thomas Aquinas.
