Junior Sharks 9 R16- Dahin Sheli outshine Sonrise JHS

Second runner-up of Junior Sharks 8, Dahin Sheli, will be proud of the job they did against Sonrise Christian JHS as the two angled at the Round 16 of Junior Sharks 9. It was virtually a walk in the park for the Northern starlets as they dominated all the rounds of the contest.

Even though Sonrise failed to progress past the Round of 16 stage, they delivered noteworthy performances in the two contests they participated in.

Unfortunately, it so happened that the difficulty level at this stage of the competition was beyond Sonrise's capacity.

Dahin Sheli, it appeared, came into this contest with a lot of experience, and would go on to win this contest without breaking a sweat.

Right Corner Round

Teams as a ground rule, are to be abreast with geography, current affairs, geopolitics, history, and the like.

When scores were shown, Dahin Sheli School had taken the lead in Round 1 with forty (40) points, while Sonrise Christian International School followed with twenty (20) points. 

R Cubed Round

Dahin Sheli quickly took the first question in the round and they were spot on. Sonrise responded well but it was all Dahin Sheli in the English segment.

Just like the Reading & Writing, the Arithmetics segment was once again a very good output for Dahin Sheli.

Dahin Sheli School extended their lead with a strong seventy (70) points, while Sonrise Christian International School scored ten (10) points in this round. 

STEM Round

After both schools missed the first three riddles, it was Dahin who was first to bag the first correct riddle, and two more in succession.

Dahin Sheli had the upper hand in this round as they led the round with thirty (30) points.

Sonrise Christian International School recorded a negative score of fifteen (-15) points this round. 

Round 4 (One-on-one)

Mildred represented Dahin Sheli as their English expert while Kendrick represented Sonrise.

Mildred bagged two questions for all twenty (20) points for Dahin Sheli.

Sayibu and Louis then represented Dahin Sheli and Sonrise respectively as experts in Math.

Petter and Marilyn represented Sonrise and Dahin Sheli respectively in Science and once again all twenty (20) points were taken by Dahin Sheli.

Prince and Mohammed represented Sonrise and Dahin Sheli respectively in General Knowledge. And at long last, the battle ended with the correct identification of the audio belonging to Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, MP.

At the end of the round, Dahin Sheli School led again with fifty (50) points, while Sonrise Christian International School scored ten (10) points. 

The final scores projected were twenty-five (25) points for Sonrise while Dahin Sheli ran victorious with one hundred and fifty (190) points. Congratulations to both schools.

Fun Fact!

Dahin Sheli remains the only school from the Northern sector to have made it to the quarterfinals of Junior Sharks 9.
