Junior Sharks 9- St. Paul Methodist and St. Monica’s JHS give fans a good treat

Two new entrants to Junior Sharks 9, St. Monica’s JHS and Girls’ Boarding, Mampong-Ashanti, and St. Paul Methodist, Tema, entertained Junior Sharks fans worldwide as they locked horns at the preliminary stage of Junior Sharks 9. On offer for the winner of this contest was a pass into the next stage of the most innovative high school quiz.

The two Saint-affiliated schools looked sharp and well-prepped for the task ahead, with each school giving ample indication of the stuff they are made of.

Both teams competed with focus and determination, but what made the difference was the ability of St. Monica’s to expertly swerve minefields in the contest.

Right Corner Round

From Mampong-Ashanti, St. Monica’s JHS were given the mandate to commence this contest.

At the end of their time, they had thirty (30) points, while St. Paul followed their footsteps and earned forty (40) points.

R Cubed Round

The two teams got on very well in the first half of the round, and the good run continued into the second half of the round.

Scores at the end of the round showed St. Monica’s JHS with a slight lead of thirty (30) while St. Paul’s bagged twenty (20) points.

STEM Round

It was game on at the start of the STEM Round, and both schools positioned themselves to grab all the points so as to boost their tally.

The riddles in this contest, in all candidedness posed some amount of trouble for the two schools.

But the two schools proved they were not in the finals of Junior Sharks 9 because of happenstance but because they deserved it.

The two brilliant schools did all in their abilities to decode the riddles asked but St. Paul Methodist was unlucky to end the round with a negative score of twenty-five (-25).

St. Monica’s JHS meanwhile had a breather as they finished in the lead once again with twenty (20) points.

One-On-One Round

The English experts for this last round of action were Brobbey and Nhyiraba for St. Monica’s JHS and St. Paul Methodist respectively.

Brobbey had his answer given for the first idiom accepted while Nhyiraba also had her answer to the second question checked correctly.

Kwame for St. Monica’s and Annang for St. Paul Methodist respectively appeared as Math specialists but unlike their counterparts prior, they scored zero (0) points.

In Science, Oheneba and Ama mounted the lectern as specialists for St. Monica’s JHS and St. Paul respectively.

The only correct score came from Oheneba, on the second riddle for ten (10) points.

To find candidates to undertake audio-visual identification, Arnold for St. Paul Methodist faced St. Monica’s JHS specialist in General Knowledge.

Arnold did well to match the logo on display to European football giants, Real Madrid as a fine contest ended on a positive note.

Thus, end-of-round scores were distributed as twenty (20) points apiece, bringing the total scores at the end of the day to fifty-five (55) points for St. Paul Methodist and the victors, St. Monica’s JHS, with a hundred (100) points. Congratulations to both teams.

Fun Fact!

The commendable win by St. Monica’s also makes them the first Saint-affiliated school to get a pass into the next stage of Junior Sharks 9.
