ROUND 16 OF SENIOR SHARKS 6 TO SEE EIGHT SIZZLING CONTESTS

At the Round of 16, only eight (8) teams will advance to the next round as the worsted exit the competition to try their luck again next year.

It is a crucial crossroad, which requires that teams be expectedly super-quick with their thinking and decision-making.

Teams herein assembled are in good stead to have their best shot at the ultimate and also secure ranked positions in the subsequent edition of Senior Sharks.

A deeper delve into the  unique mix of schools in the Round of Sixteen will churn the following noteworthy points.

Who are the sixteen teams?

Eight super ranked schools from Season 5 have been paired against eight others which triumphed in the first and/or second round.

Presec, Legon, St. Peter’s SHS, Opoku Ware School, Adisadel College, St. Augustine's College, Labone SHS, Sonrise SHS, Keta SHS make-up the list of  super ranked schools.

Joining the super ranked schools for this sizzling match-ups are ranked schools: Wesley Girl's High School, Holy Child School and Aburi Girl's SHS, Mfantsipim School, KNU DPS International, Tema,

Only two schools St. Thomas Aquinas SHS and Tamale Islamic Science SHS made it from the prelims stages.

Zonal Representation at the R16

The Round of 16 of Senior Sharks 6 is well represented by schools from South East, South West, Middle Zone, and Northern Zones.

From the middle zone, KNUST SHS and Opoku Ware School are captured, while Tamale Islamic Science SHS- the lone ranger from the Northern zone.

The South East Zone produces five candidates and they are Presec, Legon, Labone SHS, DPS International, St. Thomas Aquinas SHS and Aburi Girl's SHS.

Adisadel College, St. Augustine's College, Mfantsipim School, Holy Child School and Wesley Girls High School also make up the five-member contingent from the South West Zone.

Former Winners in the R16

The records show that some schools have exhibited consistency in the Senior Sharks and are always to be found in the thick of things.

In the Round of Sixteen of Senior Sharks 6, four of the previous winners of Senior Sharks have been identified.

Season 2 winners-Opoku Ware School, Season 3 winners- Presec, Legon, Season 4 winners-Wesley Girl's High School and Season 5 winners-St. Peter’s SHS are in strong contention for a record-breaking second title.

Equal chance for all

There is a high likelihood that previous winners and even finalists of the Senior Sharks will once again be at the centre stage of the grand finale of Senior Sharks 6.

The foregoing, notwithstanding, all must be weary of the possibility of an outsider snatching the Senior Sharks 6 trophy.

Mawuli School, Season 3 finalists and Season 4 winners- Wesley Girl's High School have shown that such postulation does not reside in the realms of absurdity. It is game on!

Sportsmanship and fair play

The Senior Sharks Quiz emphasis sportsmanship and fair play at all levels of the competition.

Participating teams are expected to compete with integrity and respecting the rules and each other to create a conducive atmosphere for knowledge acquisition.
