Senior Sharks 9- Adiembra SHS and Wallahs Academy in a battle of survival
Wallahs Academy, Ho, and Adiembra SHS had the honour of drawing the curtains down on an eventful first day of Senior Sharks 9, and they did it in style. Apart from crowning a thoroughly fulfilling day in which fans were treated to eight mouth-watering contests, this contest also wrote its unique history in the competition. At the end of the contest, Wallahs Academy, and Adiembra SHS had recorded the highest combined scores of the day. Not only that, but the eventual winning score was the highest among the Stage 1 contests, while the losing score was also the highest, showcasing just how efficiently the two schools went about their business.
From the blast of the whistle, it was evident that each school wished dearly to be the lucky one to pick the last slot into the Round 16 of Senior Sharks 9.
As such, Wallahs Academy and Adiembra SHS both had their axes sharply sharpened as they went straight into executing this monumental task.
Round-By-Round-Account
Wallahs Academy, having been a bona fide Senior Sharks associate, were fully aware of the adage, “the secret to walking on water is knowing where the stones are”.
The sixty (60) points Wallahs obtained in the R Cubed Round was the biggest score recorded in the preliminary stage of the competition.
Adiembra SHS were also raring to go, and not to be left out of the action, they also took fifty (50) points, also being the second highest score, to make the remaining rounds a highly volatile encounter.
Off the back of a wonderful display in the R Cubed Round, however, sluggishness became the bane of Wallahs Academy as they let Adiembra SHS come back with a total annihilation of fifty-five (55) points, leaving Wallahs Academy with only ten (10) points.
This was a dramatic turnaround in the contest and the next two rounds promised even more explosive action.
Adiembra were in such a rich vein of form, and they went ahead to dominate the STEM Round with another eye-popping forty-five (45) points to leave Wallahs Academy with another low score of fifteen (15) points.
Just when the chips were down, Wallahs Academy showed an incredible unquenchable spirit to take the final round with a clean sweep of forty (40) points, with Adiembra shockingly scoring zero (0).
A battle of sheer grit and wit, twists and turns had ended and final scores showed Wallahs Academy with a score of one hundred and twenty-five (125) points. But the ultimate comeback was not to be as Adiembra SHS held on with a massive score of one hundred and fifty (150) points to pick the last remaining slot into the Round of 16 of Senior Sharks 9.
