Aggrey Memorial red-carded by St. Hubert Seminary and SHS
St. Hubert Seminary and SHS, Kumasi, had a good one over Aggrey Memorial SHS, Cape Coast in Senior Sharks 7. The two schools met in the second contest of the First Round series of Senior Sharks 7, looking for limited space in the next round. This being the first season testing the waters of Senior Sharks, St. Hubert have done their confidence a huge favour by this victory. It may not be one to be considered as particularly exceptional, but they still deserve credit for bungling Aggrey Memorial who are not new to Senior Sharks.
Aggrey Memorial also fought a good fight and ran a good race in fairness to them, the only thing left being the victory crown.
Indeed, the Cape Coasters led in the first round of this contest, and could have kept at it all the way, but for miscalculations.
St. Hubert Seminary now needs to fine tune their edges in anticipation for the heavyweights they will encounter as the competition progresses.
Right Corner Round
Aggrey Memorial started with their set of eight questions on Social Literacy.
After the one hundred twenty (120) seconds had expired, they were awarded twenty (20) points.
St. Hubert Seminary and SHS also earned just ten (10) points at the end of the round.
R Cubed Round
St Hubert produced a very good performance that demonstrated their outstanding abilities in Reading, Writing, and Arithmetics..
The Arithmetic segment was utterly impressive .
At the end of the round, St. Hubert Seminary earned a colossal sixty (60) points. Bravoo!
Aggrey Memorial had been left behind at this stage, but thirty-five (35) points is also not a bad return.
STEM Round
St. Hubert was now in high spirits and buzzed for the first question of the Round without fail.
Aggrey Memorial also gave one correct answer on the third riddle.
The seminarians were able to conjure another correct answer after a long spell of inactivity.
At the end of the round, Aggrey Memorial had minus five (-5), and St. Hubert had five (5) points.
One-on-one Round
Even though St. Hubert had the upper hand going into the last Round, this contest could still go any way.
To know the final fate of the two teams, experts in English: John and Henry for St. Hubert Seminary and Aggrey Memorial advanced to give their best. None had any correct score.
Math experts Pedro and Edwin came forth for St. Hubert and Aggrey Memorial SHS respectively. It was beautiful the way Edwin picked the two questions for twenty (20) points.
Science experts Stephen and Kelvin for St. Hubert and Aggrey respectively appeared.
Kelvin tried all he could but his answer was not forthcoming..Stephen didn't go Kelvin's way and was on point with his answer.
Ebenezer met Nyakpas for Aggrey Memorial and St. Hubert Seminary and SHS as experts in Social Literacy.
Nyakpas took ten (10) points from the first question but they both missed the second photo.
End of Round scores had twenty (20) points apiece to both schools.
When final scores were called for the contest, Aggrey Memorial had seventy (70) points and St. Hubert with ninety-five (95) points.
Truly St. Hubert Seminary put their all in this contest and that is a positive attribute needed for the perilous but navigable journey ahead. Congratulations to them and better luck Aggrey Mo!
