DPS TOO STRONG FOR MATTA DEVI

DPS International, familiar feature of Junior Sharks were in action at the Round of 16 of Junior Sharks 5. The Seasons 2 and 3 first runners-up of Junior Sharks faced Matta Devi, Gyinase, Kumasi, with a place in the quarterfinals on the table.Matta Devi started the contest well and ended it well, but betwixt and between, they competed in a nonchalant manner.

DPS International, Tema, took advantage of the drop in form that attended Matta Devi and made it count productively.

Round 1

Both schools had arguably their best of rounds in Round 1 as they were on top of General Knowledge questions.

DPS ended the round with an impressive sixty( 60) points as Matta Devi also finished off with same points.

Round 2

As Matta Devi decided to let the first question go without attempt, DPS took a chance and missed it to record a negative point in their name.

Adjusting or rearranging sentences in multiple  ways proved to be quite Herculean a task as both schools looked to be in a state of uncertainty.

DPS got one correctly adjusted one sentence and added good scores from the Arithmetic segment too.

This gave them a bigger score of forty (40) at the end of the Round while Matta Devi got fifteen (15) points.

Round 3

DPS responded quickest to the Reading of the first riddle to earn ten (10) points for it.

It was all DPS in this round, either hitting the target or off it, while Matta Devi made just one attempt and were successful.

Scores at the end of the Round showed DPS asserting themselves further in the contest and established an unscalable fifty (50) points against Matta Devi’s ten (10) points.

Round 4

Rosemond and Akosua for Matta Devi and DPS as English specialists got belled out on first question but Akosua picked the second question.

Justine and Bill for Matta and DPS respectively as Math wiz kids got nothing for their toils.

Afrifa and Indriani for Matta Devi and DPS respectively in Science as experts shared the twenty (20) points.

Jesse and Afua for Matta Devi and DPS respectively in General Knowledge as experts showed up next.

Jesse was quick to identify Ghanaian-American comedian Michael Blackson but he mistook the surname with Jackson and was thus technically wrong.

He did not miss the second identification for a well deserved ten (10) points.

End of Round Scores gave twenty (20) points to both teams.

Announcing the Final scores for this eye-pleasing encounter, DPS were the victors with one hundred and seventy points (170) with Matta Devi not faring badly overall with one hundred and five (105) points.
