Ancilla Primary and JHS met GIU International at the quarterfinals of Junior Sharks to see who picks a semifinal slot.

Ancilla went straight into action from the start of the contest to the end, never allowing GIU any window of opportunity for a comeback.

GIU had won massively against Kotoka Basic at the R16, but Ancilla ensured that performance was cast into oblivion when they met GIU at the quarterfinals.

Right Corner Round

GIU were low scorers in this round of their last contest against Kotoka Basic.

Again they performed below par in this contest to end the Round with ten (10) points.

Ancilla, when they had their turn pushed harder till they halved the eight questions asked to end the Round with forty (40) points.

R Cubed Round

Ancilla's performance in this round was simply extraordinary.

They buzzed to answer the Reading and Writing questions like the questions were at their fingertips.

Indeed, in the Arithmetic segment, Ancilla did not return an incorrect score, with unassuming but lethal Daniel in his elements.

Scores at the end of the round had GIU with fifteen (15) points, while Ancilla had fifty-five (55) points.

STEM Round

Both teams needed time to warm themselves into this round, it appeared.

GIU, however, couldn't wait any longer, buzzing to hit the first correct answer for ten (10) points.

Ancilla cancelled GIU, taking the next riddle and the next in fantastic fashion.

The contest was exciting and heart wrenching all at the same time as one school missed and the other hit the target.

When the round had ended, GIU had twenty (20) points while Ancilla led once again with thirty (30) points.

One-on-one Round

Junior Sharks is yet to see a team overturn an eighty (80) points difference going to the last Round.. Will GIU break that jinx?

To find answers to the question, Derek from GIU pitted his English proficiency against Aku Shika for GIU.

Derek took the second question for ten (10) points- nonchalantly as always.

Joshua and Daniel showed up as Math Sharks for GIU and Ancilla.

Both tried their best, but it wasn't enough for any point.

Josiah and Edudzie elected as Science Sharks for GIU and Ancilla respectively.

Edudzie was super-smart to take the second question even before the clues were exhausted.

It was joy untold in the Ancilla stand in the auditorium. Josiah also picked the second question with ease.

Oswald and Anita appeared as General Knowledge specialists for GIU and Ancilla respectively.

They both stood motionless as the two photos were uploaded for identification.

End of Round scores were twenty (20) points for GIU and ten (10) points for Ancilla.

Final scores gave sixty-five (65) to GIU while Ancilla had one hundred and thirty-five (135) points.

Ancilla have proven by this massive victory that they are not to be taken lightly in Junior Sharks.

At this rate, the only thing standing in their way is their own selves.

Congratulations to them and better luck to GIU.
