Junior Sharks 8 semifinals- Ancilla School makes second straight finals
Ancilla Primary and Junior High School have joined the league of extraordinary teams to have made it to two or more Junior Sharks finals. This achievement looks more unique when looking at the fact that Ancilla did it in two straight years of participating in the Junior Sharks. The Junior Sharks 7 losing finalists, Ancilla, now have their job cut out for them, to lay hands on the Golden Book of Knowledge for the first time in their history.
Vine Christian School, who were opponents of Ancilla in this semi-final encounter, have a super story in the Junior Sharks quiz, too.
Their story would have been complete if they replicated their incredible journey in Season 4 of the Junior Sharks.
Ancilla, however, showed an unparalleled skillset to keep Vine in the yard as they marched proudly into the grand finale.
Round 1 (Right Corner Round)
It was Vine Christian who set the ball rolling, giving quizmaster Noble Crosby Annan answers to the questions on General Knowledge.
At the end of the round, both Ancilla and Vine managed to earn twenty (20) points.
Round 2 (R Cubed Round)
Ancilla made their first attempt count, and so did Vine Christian.
There was no wrong answer given by any of the teams in the English segment. Amazing!
In the Arithmetic, Ancilla started in fine form again, bringing home the first question correctly.
They again bagged Vine Christian’s bonus on the second Arithmetic question.
Even though Vine Christian picked the last question of the round, Ancilla had done enough to take the round emphatically.
Fifty (50) points were awarded to Vine Christian as Ancilla took charge of the contest with eighty (80) points.
Round 3 (STEM Round)
With poise, Vine Christian was spot on with the first riddle of the round.
Yet again, Ancilla wouldn’t let Vine suppress them as they responded to the second riddle correctly.
After a tactical approach to the questions, the round ended with ten (10) points to Ancilla and fifteen (15) points to Vine Christian.
Round 4 (One-on-one)
This round still held the cards for the winner of this contest; as such, no team could afford to sleep on the job.
As English specialists, Maame Efua came face-to-face with Ama for Ancilla.
Maame Efua gave a correct answer to the first question.
In Math, Ariel and her feminine namesake, Ariela, were introduced as specialists for Ancilla and Vine Christian, respectively.
Ariel bagged the first question but missed the second by inches.
Science experts Diamond and Philipa for Ancilla and Vine, respectively stood across from each other.
“Shine bright like a Diamond”- two brisk answers, twenty (20) points for Ancilla.
Awadzi and Franklin came for Ancilla and Vine, respectively, as Social Literacy experts. But none provided any more points.
Scores for the round had Ancilla with thirty (30) points and Vine Christian with ten (10) points.
Total scores at the end of this contest of elite minds gave ninety-five (95) to Vine Christian, as Ancilla booked a date with the winner of the Manna Int. Vs Dahin Sheli in the grand finale of Junior Sharks 8. Well done to both teams!
