Senior Sharks 8 quarterfinals- Onward they go- St. Peter’s into semifinals
St. Peter’s SHS, Nkwatia, are having their ambitions in Senior Sharks 8 materializing one step at a time. The losing finalists of Season 7 are into the semifinals of the Senior Sharks 8 competition, defeating Opoku Ware School in the process. This means barring any last-minute surprises, St. Peter’s (Persco) are just a step away from claiming their second Senior Sharks trophy. This quarterfinal contest was a tantalizing one that fans of both schools anticipated with bated breath. Both schools have under their wings the gigantic score of two hundred and twenty (220), being the second-highest scores recorded yet in Senior Sharks 8.
What’s more? Each school also is a proud winner of the Senior Sharks quiz- OWASS in Season 2 and St. Peter’s in Season 5, respectively.
Knowing how Opoku Ware is spoiled for choices when it comes to competent personnel, fans were hoping for an all-out affair à la Adisco vs Presec and Keta SHS vs Prempeh College.
On D-day, however, things didn’t go exactly as planned for OWASS as St. Peter’s had their signature written on the contest from start to finish.
Round-by-round action
Having two perfect scores in the Right Corner Round in two successive contests of Senior Sharks 8 sums up the all-rounded prowess St. Peter’s comes with.
In the R Cubed round, St. Peter’s once again stamped their authority on the contest by winning with forty (40) points to twenty-five (25) for the Owarians.
OWASS will redeem themselves in the STEM Round and win it by just ten (10) points which would be rendered inconsequential on the back of Persco’s forty (40) points earned in Round 4.
The contest thus ended with St. Peter’s having a score of one hundred and sixty-five (165) while OWASS had seventy-five (75) points.
