Ghana National College greatly boosted their chances of earning the bragging rights of this home match when they went off to a flying start in Round 1.

But they received a pleasant surprise as Aggrey Memorial threw a spanner in the works and won the next two rounds.

It could have been another contest with a tie-breaker conclusion as both teams earned the same scores in the final round, but Ghana National had already taken care of their destiny from the get-go.

Right Corner Round (Social Literacy)

The Round that made all the difference was the round inspired by questions all the way from Argentina to Zimbabwe.

After two minutes of grilling, Aggrey Memorial Zion managed just ten (10) points while Ghana National College ended the round with forty (40) points.

R Cubed Round (Literacy and Numeracy)

Following the splendid output in the Right Corner Round, Ghana National College wished to add the R Cubed Round also to cement their winning prospects.

But like the formidable force they are, Aggrey Memorial took the game to Ghana National and pipped them with twenty-five (25) points to twenty (20) points for Ghana National.

STEM Round (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)

When the opportunity to build on the gain from the Second Round presented itself, Aggrey Memorial did not think twice, abruptly delivering “DENDRITE” as the answer to the first riddle.

The answer to the second riddle was “INSULIN”. But unlike the first answer, this answer came from “Nanaanom”, a byname for Ghana National College.

It was not a race for the faint-hearted as both schools buzzed in quick alternation to deliver their answers to the riddles.

At the end of the round, it was seen that Aggrey Memorial had been more clinical, thereby ending the round with thirty (30) points while Ghana National lost another round with ten (10) points.

One-On-One (Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Social Literacy)

The contest decider was now here, and Kweku for Aggrey Memorial and Nathaniel for Ghana National respectively represented as English experts.

Kweku was first on the scene with his answer to the missing letters in the word “PEURILE”.

He had no such luck on the second word. Nathaniel neither.

Zoe and Adjetey for Aggrey Memorial and Ghana National respectively were introduced as Math specialists.

The twenty (20) points were shared between the two- Nathaniel the first to bag ten (10) points, Zoe second.

Emmanuel made amends on the second riddle after fumbling on the first. Nana Yaw also missed his way on the first question.

To round off, our experts list, Liberty for Aggrey Memorial and Solomon for Ghana National came in the shot. Their efforts were fruitless.

Thus, the end of the round scores went twenty (20) apiece.
