Junior Sharks 8 Round 16- St. Peter’s R/C, Nkwatia, fights well but succumbs to Manna Int.
Manna International School, joint record holder of the Junior Sharks quiz, is in the quarterfinals of Junior Sharks 8. In reaching the quarterfinals of Junior Sharks 8, Manna Int. faced highly rated St. Peter’s Catholic Basic, Nkwatia, in an intensive battle. From Round 1 to the end of the contest, the fans of these two schools looked more anxious than an expectant mother. The two schools were neck-to-neck throughout this contest of quick thinking abilities, such that fans were left wondering if this contest would be decided after the four rounds.
Matter-of-factly speaking, Manna Int. and St. Peter’s R/C were tied on points in three of the stipulated four rounds.
It took Manna’s lightning-speed fingers in the STEM Round before they let themselves free from St. Peter’s menacing grip.
The contest showed yet again that “little drops make a mighty ocean” was true then and it is true now.
Round 1 (Right Corner Round)
To begin this mouth-watering encounter, Manna Int. was the first to put their social literacy acuity to the test.
They were average in this round, judging by their own high standards, and got rewarded with thirty (30) points.
The story of St. Peter’s R/C followed the same trail as Manna’s.
They pulled thirty (30) points.
Round 2 (R Cubed Round)
Peter’s started the festivities in this round by answering the first question in Reading and Writing, but they fumbled to allow Manna take their bonus.
Manna stood tall in the Reading & Writing segment.
Both Manna and St. Peter’s faced some very tough questions in Arithmetic, but once again, it was Manna Int. who showed they were physically, mentally, and mathematically present.
At the end of the round, Manna scored big with forty-five (45) points to leave St. Peter’s with ten (10) points.
Round 3 (STEM Round)
This is the round in the entire contest that failed to ignite as one would have expected.
Manna ended the round well after initially finding it difficult to find their way in the riddles.
St. Peter’s could not take advantage of Manna’s lack of enterprise in the round, as they also were able to take only five (5) points as Manna.
Round 4 (One-on-one)
The contest was a cliffhanger, and the experts had a huge responsibility to seize the moment to write their names in history.
In English, Ivan and Bernard for Peter’s and Manna. Int answered the call.
The two experts shared twenty (20) points equally.
Jonathan and Ephraim came forward for St. Peter’s and Manna in Math, but none had any clues to the two questions.
Next was Stephen and Jayden for Manna and Peter’s respectively in Science. Jayden got the first question, “water”, correctly for Peter’s and added the second question as well. Bravo!!!
Edwin and Joy, as General Knowledge experts for Peter’s and Manna Int., were captured.
Joy put joy on the faces of Manna Int. fans as he got the first question to finish off nicely for the Kumasi-Breman school.
Scores at the end of the round said thirty (30) points for each school.
When final scores were announced, St. Peter’s walked away with a satisfactory seventy-five (75) points as Manna Int. triumphed with a total of one hundred and ten (110) points.
