MTN renews beautiful partnership with the ATDP- organisers of Sharks Season 8
MTN, the leading telecommunications company in Ghana has affirmed its commitment to The Academic Talent Development Programme (ATDP) by agreeing to an extended sponsorship to produce Season 8 of The Sharks Quiz.

The confirmation of MTN’s sponsorship comes on the back of a mutually beneficial relationship that was entered into for the production of Season 7 of the popular quiz.
Patrons of The Sharks Quiz Season 8 will thus see the famous yellow hue of the telecommunication giant as a dominant feature of the topmost educational programme in the country.
This welcome and telling move by MTN is expected to reinforce The Sharks Quiz as the most trusted quiz brand in the country.
It also symbolizes the growing recognition of the Academic Talent Development Programme (ADTP-Ghana) as the number one hub for education in Africa.
The Sharks Quiz, a quality brainy programme organised by the ADTP-Ghana has redefined how quizzes are organised in Ghana.
In its eighth season, the all-rounded programme has succeeded in changing the perception of such co-curricular programmes in the eyes of the public.
Its subjects’ inclusivity approach, which ensures that the quiz is representative of the abilities of every student, has been a significant departure from other programmes.
Significantly also, the quiz places emphasis on the STEAM courses, in keeping with the technology and AI-driven world we live in.
For MTN, sponsoring The Sharks Season 8 is second nature, a cause that sits in line with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
In its 25-year history, MTN, through CSR initiatives, has provided teaching & learning materials, educational scholarships, and constructed classroom blocks in deprived communities, among others.
As of the end of 2024, MTN had delivered educational scholarships worth Ghc 12.8M to over ten thousand students to pursue various courses at different levels in Ghana through the MTN Foundation.
Some noteworthy products of MTN’s impact on education through the Bright Scholarship are Dr. Belinda Obour and 11 others who recently graduated from the University of Cape Coast.
With the patronage and followership of The Sharks Quiz bursting at the seams, it is safe to say that as a sponsor of Season 8, MTN has hit a goldmine in its brand visibility and awareness drive.
In the words of Mr. Abel Ohene Acquaye, Executive Producer of Sharks 8, MTN’s continuous support of The Sharks Quiz is a source of immense pride and inspiration for the growth of The Sharks brand. “It is indicative of the trust MTN repose in the viability and integrity of The Sharks quiz as a platform for unearthing academic gems for national development”, he added.
He allows that the huge success chalked in Season 7 of the quiz was chiefly thanks to the timely sponsorship provided by MTN, and other supporting sponsors.
Abel reiterates that his outfit stands ready to deliver the expected benefits to MTN as mutually agreed to enable the telco provider to recoup its investment for future partnerships.
